Writing Prompts and Exercises: Provide fun and creative writing prompts and exercises to inspire students' imagination and help them develop their writing skills.
Illustration and Visual Storytelling: Introduce the concept of visual storytelling and the relationship between text and illustrations in children's books. Encourage students to create their own illustrations to accompany their written stories, fostering creativity and artistic expression.
Story Analysis through Reading: Select age-appropriate books and stories for group reading sessions, focusing on different genres, styles, and themes. After reading, facilitate discussions to help students analyse the elements of storytelling and understand what makes a story engaging and memorable.
Editing and Revising Skills: Teach students the importance of revising and editing their work to improve clarity, coherence, and expression. Provide simple editing exercises and encourage peer feedback to help students refine their writing skills.
Presentation and Performance: Give students opportunities to share their stories with their peers through presentations or storytelling performances. Boost their confidence and public speaking skills while also fostering a sense of pride in their creative work.
