This internship is offered at two levels. Students may apply for the Starter Internship which will introduce students to the basics of Game Design & Development. The Star Interns from this may then further opt to take the Advanced Programme where they will use their learning to develop their signature game which could have the privilege of being hosted on Zamit for all users !

This internship will cover the following subject areas:

Introduction to Game Design Concepts: Introducing students to fundamental game design concepts, including game mechanics, storytelling, level design, and player experience.

Hands-on Game Development Experience: Provide opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience with game development tools and software. Introduce them to beginner-friendly platforms such as Unity and guide them through the process of creating their own games.

Playtesting and Feedback: Emphasize the importance of playtesting and gathering feedback throughout the game development process. Encourage students to playtest each other's games and provide constructive criticism to help improve gameplay, mechanics, and overall user experience.

Game Design Principles and Theory: Teach students about game design principles and theory, such as balance, pacing, progression, and user interface design. Help them understand how these principles contribute to creating engaging and immersive gaming experiences.

Individual Project Exploration: This allows students to focus on their specific interests, experiment with different design ideas, take ownership of their creative process, develop prototypes, and iterate on their designs independently. Navigate the game development process from concept to completion on their own and showcase their individual strengths and talents in game design and development.

User Trials and Iterative Design: Incorporate user trials as a crucial step in the game development process. Encourage students to conduct user testing sessions where they invite peers or other stakeholders to playtest their games and provide feedback. Emphasize the importance of gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback to identify areas for improvement and iterate on the game design.
